Job title: Senior Category Manager Citrus

The Opportunity
The Senior Category Manager – Citrus is a strategic and business-critical role responsible for driving global revenue, margin growth, and category excellence across both the Citrus portfolio. This position requires ownership over product portfolio management, strategic sourcing, asset utilization, and financial performance. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to align category strategies with customer needs, market trends, procurement and business objectives, ensuring the highest levels of profitability and customer satisfaction.
Ultimately the role will be responsible for key financial metrics in the business including revenue, contribution and material costs.

Duties & Responsibilities
Category Strategy Development:
• Develop and execute the category strategy for Citrus portfolios to achieve business growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to identify category growth opportunities, guiding product innovation and strategic sourcing.
• Act as a trusted Citrus advisor to customers, leveraging Citrus expertise to address their challenges and deliver tailored solutions.
• Collaborate with sales teams to develop Citrus value propositions and strengthen relationships with key accounts.
• Provide educational opportunities on Citrus portfolio offerings, ensuring product awareness and understanding within the organization.
Strategic Sourcing:
• Lead citrus sourcing in the group, ensuring strong relationships throughout the Citrus supply chain for continual and competitive supply.
• Regular origin sourcing trips to Citrus suppliers, and scouting new sources of supply for opportunities in other geographies.
• Support the Citrus QC team in aligning product specifications with suppliers and customers
• Advise on strategic Citrus raw material purchasing for long-term positions and tactical buying for short-term positions.
• Lead Citrus trading to enhance total portfolio sales and profit.
• Attendance at key industry conferences, build strong network within the citrus industry, and advise on the competitor landscape.
Product Portfolio & Asset Management:
• Oversee the product lifecycle of Citrus category, including product innovation, optimisation, and rationalisation.
• Ensure the optimal mix of products is produced on global assets and manage costing to enhance Citrus category profitability.
• Be responsible for Citrus product pricing on a quarterly basis.
• Build business cases for enhancing capabilities at key production sites and support pipeline opportunities with customers.
• Lead Citrus category performance reviews and share insights with internal stakeholders to drive strategic decisions, including revenue, margin, cost optimisation, and market share, implementing corrective actions where necessary.

Education & Experience
• University degree in business management, a technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the food, flavour ingredients, or citrus industries, in a commercial, technical, or sourcing role.
• Preferred, at least 5 years of experience in citrus industry.
Working Conditions
• Open Office – typical spacious room, desks close together.
Travel
• Up to 40% globally.
